New online service for trademark applicants
As of December 2010, a new online system for assistance of trademark applicants, more specifically with the classification of goods and services concerning international registrations applications, was launched. The service has been offered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) through the instrument Madrid System Goods & Services (G&S Manager) and is applicable to applications filed under the provisions of the Madrid Agreement for registration of international registration and the Protocol.
G&S Manager can be accessed by users through the portal WIPO GOLD at the website of the WIPO (www.wpo.int) and provides information for thousands of standardized terms, classified in  accordance with the Ninth Edition of the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks (the Nice classification).
G&S Manager is available in the three working languages of the Madrid system – English, French and Spanish. Through the website of WIPO, a Russian interface of the same is offered as well.
